All I can say is Maastricht is a city that everyone should visit at least once in their life. Upon arriving in Maastricht you sense the old and the new, the cobble stone streets, old buildings dated back to the 17th century and older. These buildings are not torn down but recycled into businesses, restaurants, a fabulous bookstore etc. The atmosphere was relaxing and I noticed people everywhere it’s a place of Joi de Vivre. Still there was much I did not see so going back is a must; it was a comfortable feeling being in Maastricht.
Although my trip to Maastricht had its own stress level and costly, once I arrived in Maastricht I was taken in by the beauty of the city and how it was laid out. Small narrow streets in the town center for shopping surrounded by the park, the Maas River, bridges and beautiful neighborhoods to walk through even to Andre’s house. Although my feet had its toll walking on cobble stones, I did take a picture of Andre’s home where he was born and you can see the tip of the church near his present home that he had bought in order to save it.
The concerts were wonderful for sure and my first time sitting in an Andre Rieu dress rehearsal was a wonderful experience seeing how he works. He made lots of funny faces to the audience too and as well as prompting the audience for the German TV crew’s taping and it was cold that evening too. The weather was cloudy but thanks to Clara it did not rain during the concert other than a few drops that I felt and then stopped. Monday July 13th Clara gave us a nice sunny pleasant day. I think the pictures can speak for themselves which are the best that came out. Enjoy!
